Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ?

God deeply loves you and desires for you to have a close relationship with him, knowing his voice and living in his strength. He wants to adopt you into his family. We join the family of God by heeding the words of the New Testament. For instance, in the book of Acts, the Apostle Peter declares to the crowd, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). Peter tells us that we should "change our thinking" (repent, μετανοέω) about sin and turn away from that kind of lifestyle. Instead, we should turn to God.

We turn to God through faith by identifying ourselves with what seems to us to be a strange old custom, namely, water baptism. But when we are immersed in water, and our body sinks down into it, it is as if we are being buried with Jesus Christ. We are identifying with his death, which he died for each one of us. And when we are raised out of the water, we are identifying with Jesus in his resurrection and the new spiritual birth that he gives to us. Anyone can be born again through faith in Jesus Christ! Peter promises that turning away from sin and turning to Jesus will erase our sins and make us right with God. He accepts us and gives us his presence, the Holy Spirit, the Sacred Breath of God.

Today, choose to turn away from a lifestyle that doesn't revolve around God (which we call sin), and turn to Jesus Christ to be the Master and focus of your life.
